Socks are shaped like chromosomes in our bodies, and most people with Down syndrome have an extra chromosome in the 21st pair. This combination that cannot be matched in a pair is like Mandarin duck socks, although different but each has its own characteristics. As long as we change it, mandarin duck socks of different colors or patterns can still be worn together to form a colorful picture; As long as we are more tolerant and accepting of people with Down syndrome, they can also live the same wonderful life as ordinary people!
We invite you to wear this 2+1 combination on World Down World Syndrome Day on March 21 to showcase diversity, inclusive beauty and a new perspective on things! It also arouses the public’s concern for people with Down syndrome!
The funds raised from this event will be used to sustain self-financing service development, including physical development programmes for people with Down syndrome and other disabilities, with a view to improving the quality of life for them and their families.

人體每個細胞都有46條染色體，而大部分唐氏綜合症人士卻有47條，正是這條額外的染色體，為唐氏綜合症人士帶來外貌與智力上的特徵。然而，他們只要及早接受適當訓練及支援，掌握生活技巧，培養工作能力，唐氏綜合症人士也可以過著愉快而獨立的生活。
聯合國大會宣布由2012年起，3月21日定為世界唐氏綜合症日，藉以提高公眾意識並倡導唐氏綜合症人士的權利。3. 21正標誌著大部份唐氏綜合症人士的第21對染色體中，多出的第3條染色體，這一條額外的染色體為我們帶來了簡單而又真摰的唐氏綜合症朋友，故定於此日。
