Xinyi's first summer water ceremony was when she was two years old, swimming in the water like a little fish, and having fun! While Xinyi enjoyed her freedom in the water and studied hard, she was diagnosed with leukemia six months later, and was forced to leave the swimming pool and stay in the hospital for chemotherapy treatment, and then spent some time at home to recuperate. "Xinyi has had many ailments since she was a child, including asthma, heart, intestines, leukemia, and when she was in kindergarten, she had to be accompanied by Chinese medicine almost every day." Seeing her daughter's physical illness, Xinyi's mother just wants her daughter to recover and become physically strong. Therefore, with the advice and encouragement of teachers and social workers, Xinyi's mother still chose to learn to swim for Xinyi, hoping to exercise her body through the sport of swimming. "I'd rather take her to the pool than go back and forth to the hospital." Xinyi's mother still insists on taking Xinyi to different swimming pools to practice water and participate in competitions of different sizes every time.
Xinyi has been learning to swim for 7 years, and she also likes to swim, the best is the frog style, but she loves the butterfly style. "I like butterfly because I dance like a butterfly in the water." No matter what the swimming style, swimming can indeed bring Xinyi a lot of joy, training with teammates, the friendship increases every day, and it is better like a few more brothers and sisters. More thankfully, through sports, swimming can really strengthen her resistance, her body becomes stronger, and the former little fish have become little dolphins, which can easily go back and forth between the two sides of the pool.
From participating in swimming classes to joining the Down swimming team, Xinyi has always actively participated in practice, followed the guidance of coaches, and was constantly encouraged and accumulated experience, her swimming style and skills have improved greatly. This year, she participated in the selection competition of the association, and with good results, she was successfully selected to represent the association to Canada to participate in the 9th Down Syndrome World Swimming Championships, Xinyi's mother felt very happy for this, and she was full of confidence in Xinyi, witnessing that she learned to swim since she was a child, Xinyi's mother watched her persistence and hard work every day, every stroke, every kick, is in the leap. Xinyi's mother hopes that she can enjoy the competition, swim from the local swimming pool to the world, see the big world together, and then learn and grow. However, Xinyi, who has always been lively and cheerful, is a little nervous about this competition, she has always loved being in the water, and she has to overcome the psychological barrier of flying. Still, she has hope and confidence that she can win a medal.
Xinyi is a girl with Down syndrome, who is not too big from ordinary girls, but is small and shows a childishness. However, she has an amazing perseverance and explosive power, bravely facing the challenge of illness. And Xinyi's mother also regarded her as an ordinary girl, giving her the opportunity to explore and play, and enjoy the frank happiness of childhood, while winning applause from the pool, splashing brilliant splashes.
