My snail child

Perhaps many parents will use horses to describe their children because they are lively and responsive; However, I would use the term “snail” to describe my children.
My child, Zhixuan, is now five and a half years old. He was diagnosed with Down syndrome on the first day of his life, and we were defenseless against this sudden blow, he was our first child, we always believed that he would come into this world healthy and healthy, but who knew that God played such a joke on us.
Thankfully, Zhixuan has been in good health since birth and has not undergone any surgery, but his intellectual and physical development lags far behind that of ordinary children. I still clearly remember that Zhixuan would only turn around when he was a child, climb at the age of one and a half, walk at the age of two and a half, and now he can only say some incomplete sentences at the age of five and a half. Due to the limitations of congenital conditions, most patients with Down syndrome have varying degrees of developmental delay in learning ability, which is why I use “snail” to describe Zhixuan.
You might think it’s unfortunate to have a snail child, but I don’t. God sent me a snail and asked him to take me for a walk, and although we walked slowly, we all worked hard; Although we walk slowly, we get more life experience; We walk slowly, but we are moving forward. Every small step is a milestone in our lives, and because every step is difficult, the joy of success is full.
My snail child, gentle and kind, innocent, willing to share, compassionate, he loves everyone around him, such qualities are very precious in my opinion.
If you also have a snail child like me, don’t be discouraged, don’t be depressed, in the fast-paced city of Hong Kong, it is not another blessing to be able to lead your snail child through life.
