9 March 2019 (Saturday) Hong Kong Island Flag Day

Buy a pair of Mandarin duck sock flags

Created with Fabric.js 3.5.0

The Association has been approved by the Social Welfare Department (Public Fundraising Licence No. FD/R007/2018) to hold a flag-selling fundraising event on 9 March 2019 (Saturday) on Hong Kong Island, which will also encourage the Association’s new venue in Chai Wan. In March, the Association also took the opportunity to promote World Down Syndrome Day. This flag selling day will be designed with the theme of Mandarin duck socks. The association also launched the “Mandarin Duck Socks Flag Set” to call on everyone to buy it to show their support. It is hoped that the funds raised through this flag sale will be used to sustain self-financing service development, including physical and artistic development programmes for people with Down syndrome and other disabilities, with a view to improving the quality of life of them and their families.

A pair of socks resembles a pair of chromosomes, but it turns out that each sock can have its own unique color and show its full ability, as well as people with Down syndrome who have an extra chromosome.
